Postdoctoral positions

We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Translational AI Research Lab, working on trustworthy AI for scientific discovery and biomanufacturing as part of a Horizon Europe project.

  • Contract: Full-time, fixed-term until 31st August 2030.

Funding opportunities for PhD applicants

We are accepting new PhD students. Our research group is interested in developing fundamental methodologies in trustworthy AI, statistical signal processing, and multimodal machine learning, as well as translational work to address real-world, interdisciplinary applications in healthcare and environmental sciences.

  1. A fully funded PhD position on Trustworthy Generative AI in Healthcare
    • Supervisors: Dr Yunpeng Li and Dr Yali Du.
    • Funding: Funded by the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences (tuition fees at the home or international rate plus a stipend at the UKRI London rate), for 3 years.
    • Start date: 1st February 2027, 1st June 2027 or 1st October 2027.
    • Application deadline: Applications are shortlisted on a rolling basis. Early applications are encouraged.
  2. A funded PhD position on Diffusion/LLM Powered Generative AI with Healthcare Applications
    • Supervisors: Dr Yunpeng Li and Dr Ayan Das.
    • Funding: Funded by Horizon Europe (home-rate fees plus a stipend at the UKRI rate; overseas applicants cover the fee difference).
    • Start date: 1st October 2026 or 1st February 2027.
    • Application deadline: 15th August 2026. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis, so early application is encouraged.
